Jiayue Yu, born in 2002 in Beijing, China, is currently studying at Ringling College of Art and Design. Working across printmaking and sculpture, her practice undertakes an enduring exploration of origins. In her creations, she is both the explorer and a character within the narrative, intertwining her identity with the work to share her thoughts and perceptions with the audience. She regards creation as a path and her works as ferries, navigating the unknown. Oscillating between the virtual and the real, she seeks to capture enduring truths in an impermanent world, using her art to engage with the timeless principles of the "Tathāgata."
